South Dakota Association of Rural Water Systems Recognizes Aric Olson as the 2023 Operations Supervisor of the Year
The South Dakota Association of Rural Water Systems is pleased to announce Aric Olson as the distinguished recipient of the Operations Supervisor of the Year Award
for 2023. Aric's exceptional journey with the Big Sioux Community Water System, from a summer helper to Chief Water Treatment Plant Operator, highlights his dedication and significant contributions to the organization.
In his role since 2019, Aric has spearheaded revolutionary changes in the plant's operations, implementing vital maintenance programs that have significantly extended
the life and efficiency of the 28-year-old lime softening plant. His proactive approach in managing the well fields has improved budgeting and reduced unexpected maintenance costs.
Aric's ingenuity became evident during the upgrade of control systems at the treatment plants, showcasing his ability to adapt and solve complex problems effectively.
His invaluable contributions to the design of the Shared Resources treatment plant have ensured practicality and cost-effectiveness in this major project.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Aric's dedication to his community is exemplified by his swift response during the derecho event, ensuring continuous water
service for residents. Aric Olson's deep expertise and unwavering commitment make him an asset to Big Sioux Community Water System, and he is a truly deserving recipient of the prestigious Operations Supervisor of the Year Award for 2023.
